Armored Man Releases EDSFF E1.S SSD for Hyperscale Data Centers with PCIe 5.0 Support

The XD7P series is designed for hyperscale and general server applications on the new Enterprise and Datacenter Standard Form Factor (EDSFF) E1. The XD7P series is the second generation of data center-class NVMe SSDs that support the Open Compute Project (OCP), following the XD6 series. The Warrior XD7P drive is available for test samples to select customers now.


The XD7P series of data center-class NVMe SSDs showcases an all-around performance evolution. The XD7P drives are designed for PCIe 4.0 and NVMe 2.0 specifications, and a PCIe 5.0 version with up to 32 GT/sec interface speed per transfer lane is under development. The current XD7P series will be available in PCIe 4.0 SSD specifications, while the PCIe 5.0 SSD version will be released based on customer demand.

The XD7P series uses Armored Man’s 5th generation BiCS Flash 3D flash technology with a dedicated Armored Man controller, and the controller can be customized to meet customer needs. 9.5mm, 15mm and 25mm versions will be available in the E1.S form factor, with hot slot options. 1 DWPD endurance is available up to 7.68TB.
